Do I still need a website in 2019?
Updated: Dec 11, 2018
Why in this very social media heavy day and age having a website should still be a key marketing tool in 2019.
So, let's be clear, yes this is a blatant plug for new business! Really?! I hear you say, that open and honest about it? Well yes, and the reason for this is that life is just too short to engage in the very "House of Cards" style politically manoeuvring that gets you to act without actually asking you to.
“So why does having a mobile optimised website matter? Well in very simple terms you'll be missing out on sales opportunities..."
So here in lies the real question? Why in this very social media focused day and age do I still need a website? Well the answer is more simple than you think! Yes, we can get involved in a very detailed argument that about the amount of information you can provide on a website to build trust which leads through the sales process or why we need a website to generate organic search results - 'yes, all important stuff' I hear you say.
But, get ready - cause here it comes! None of this will matter in 2019 if you don't have a mobile optimised (wanky developer term for 'effective') website.
Why having a mobile optimised website matters in 2019?
Good question I hear you ask. Well the very simple reason that you still need a website in 2019 and beyond is because there are more mobile searches today than desktop searches.
So why does having a mobile optimised website matter? Well in very simple terms you'll be missing out on sales opportunities. The first thing people do these days is reach for their device and consult Chrome or Safari about their search, so if you don't have a strong mobile website that performs then you are going to be missing out on search results.
Now this might not matter to you in the big scheme of life because you still have your add in the yellow pages, RIGHT!? Well, it matters. In today's online climate it matters!
So you may be sitting here thinking 'yep another blog post that I've read before, nothing new here'. But the key thing is that you may not be my target market. Keep in mind that while there are a bunch of tech savvy small medium and large businesses out there, there are many who are not, and they are the people that I'm directly speaking too.
You need a presence, any kind of presence, to get your business or self online, to start gaining traction and begin the very detailed process of untangling the web.
